Yes the headline is rather scathing to the 2000 Olympic games host stadium. However there are many reasons why it is so. Firstly getting there is a pain. Trains normally dont stop there as you have to get to Lidcombe or Strathfield and then take the olympic shuttle. Some express services from Central run but not very well. Stadium staff are not very helpful and are incredibly difficult when you are trying to get seats with friends or in the active supporters area due to other spectators complaining of the noise, standing and singing.
Food was expensive much like AFL prices in Perth and the alcohol was mid-strength. The game was rather average with Australia giving too much space and being indecisive when going forward. Australia are now heavily relying on Tim Cahill really shut down any attacking options for the Socceroos, much like when Josh Kennedy plays they play in one manner and will never divert from this.
All in all it still give me goosebumps knowing that electric night on the 16th November 2005 when we finally broke the drought and booked our tickets to Germany 2006.
